This topic in acim gave me quite a bit of ‘scrambled egg brain’ over the years. If you search the urtext… the section on ‘reversing’ ‘effect and cause’ is one of those sections (like rules for decision) that reads as ‘wtf’…. I encourage all to read it… and here is my visual ‘cliff note’ version…

God did not create any thing in this illusion… God just LOVES ALL. Love needs No Cause… it’s Causeless…be cause …We are LOVE… period… no exceptions… (note:… if we give ‘love’ a ’cause’… like… ‘ Be cause I Love him … that is ego… not the Causeless Love of God…

All ‘story lines’, I create in my mind. And I ‘make them real’ by creating a ‘cause’ for every thing. I am sick ‘be cause’ of… blah blah blah (cause of ill ness))… I am poor be cause… blah blah blah (cause of poverty)…

Acim is a process for ‘me’ … to ‘show’ ‘me’ how to ‘reverse my thinking’ and create stories of Love without ‘fear’…

‘Traditionally’… and with fear, I learned ‘cause and effect’. It tends to be the way ‘most learned ‘cause and effect’… with fear.   I remember the first time I touched a ‘hot coil’ on the stove. I got cause and effect from ‘fear’. And the ‘victim script’ fell out of these stories.

And I can ‘hear my self think’… yeah but…. (it is ego and I will play along here for a second….)…

My small mind says, “You need to be scared of a hot coil on a stove, are you nuts!”…. I respond to ‘my thinking’… how might I handle this ‘horizantal situation’ without fear… And I respond to my self…

As a child I set my self up with fear like this, after the above example.…

“Bonnie Sue (my birth/family name used in emergencies)… what were you thinking… OMG… That has got to HURT, don’t ever do that again”… my thinking from this moment.… ‘fear hot coils’… ‘never do that again’ …’shit what was ‘I’ thinking’… ‘I wasn’t thinking’… ‘probably best to maintain some defensive thinking at all times’… ‘just in case’…’so don’t do that ever again’ …and so on…all fear based decisions.

How about…

“Honey … I Love You… Let me see your finger… a kiss or a bandaid… it is healed… Are You needing a Hug?“…. My possible thinking would take me to… ‘I am Loved’ … ‘it is all ok’ … ‘hot coils are not for fingers’… ‘let’s go play’….

Just another way of presenting ‘cause and effect’…

Now my language has been filled with ‘be causes’ for ever… All information following a ‘because’ is further from the Truth and is sourced from my ‘victim thinking’… Saying ‘because’… places everything that follows that word in a sentence as the ‘thing’ responsible for my feelings.

I would make ‘you’ wrong … rather than admit I caused all of it…All my own feelings and life situations. Oh geez…. I forgive my self this old way of ‘being’… yes… the course does say I will need to address ‘my viscious’ thinking…

Having ‘illness’… in the ‘ill usion’… is an effect of something… now my stories to back up ‘cause and effect’ with form usually went like this…

“I am sick be cause of… a toxic heavy lead load… be cause of hormones went postal… be cause our environment is toxic… be cause I’m tired… be cause I am angry… be cause I have been eating sugar…,

I have many ‘story lines’…whatever the story line looks like… All effects that I think ‘I see’ in the illusion… Must Have Causes… We even ponder…what came first (or caused the other)…. The chicken or the egg…

“The miracle returns the CAUSE of fear to you who made it.” Period…lolol

YES…Holy Spirit… Show Me Another Way….

Ok… If God is Only Love… and I am the Holy Child of God and am Only Love… what is the effect of Love… it can ONLY BE LOVE. .. so the Truth… Love is… unless I interfere with other thoughts… like…because …
